We are in that time of year where the beautiful trees are going to be dropping leaves everywhere and sometimes we just accept it. After all it is a lot of work to get them cleaned up and keep our yards looking outstanding. Pro Yard and Landscaping is here to help! Although it is nearing the end of the growing season there are still some plants that can be planted and it is a time to think about any bulb flowers you want. Planting them in the fall will lead to lovely new flowers in the spring. Don't forget to give your grass a helping hand with fertilizer and aeration as we mention below. Sometimes our yards need a helping hand to ensure they look even better next year.

Winter

Many of us don't consider having to get our yards ready for winter other then getting sprinkler systems cleared out. Sometimes even that gets overlooked until the last moment.  

Other then getting your sprinkler systems ready for the winter your grass can use a helping hand as well. Depending on the type of grass, cool-season or warm-season, you have Aerating your lawn in the fall will help prepare your lawn for winter. Cool-season grasses are usually aerated in the fall between August and November while a warm-season grass should be aerated in spring. Aeration opens the root zone, promotes new root growth, and by doing it in the fall your grass recovers before going dormant for the winter. Aeration can bring weed seeds to the surface that are present in your soil so we also recommend a good fertilizer with weed control.
